Basic Fall Protection & Equipment Inspection Training

This one day course is designed for industrial, construction, and utility safety, supervisory, and other personnel who face questions and decisions daily on how to do fall protection and if the equipment is in proper condition for use.

Explaining the parts of a personal fall arrest systems and showing how they work, this course will show equipment that can make fall protection quicker and easier.

The second part of this course will cover how to perform the semiannual and/or annual inspections required by manufactures and provide information to help train workers to do better OSHA required pre-use inspections.

Instruction will be provided on proper inspection and then practice will be done on actual equipment.

THE BASICS OF FALL PROTECTION: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The morning session is designed for industrial, construction, and utility safety and supervisory personnel who face questions and decisions daily on how to do fall protection. In addition to explaining the parts of fall arrest systems and showing how they work this seminar will show equipment that can make fall protection quicker and easier. This session will include:
● Introduction
● Anchorage
● Body Support
● Decent and Rescue

FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT INSPECTION: 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The afternoon session is designed for the Competent Inspector. This is a comprehensive inspection course, which after completion will allow those responsible for the inspection of fall protection equipment to make educated decisions on the suitability for use. Certification as a Competent Inspector will be issued to those who successfully complete the training by Capital Safety Group. The training will also include standards and regulations, incorporating what they require and how they relate to the inspection process.

COURSE TOPICS:
● ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Standard regarding inspection requirements.
● OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Regulations regarding inspection requirements and qualifications of inspectors.
● Documentation methods of inspections.
● Review of Technical Bulletins that provide additional information on equipment use, inspection requirements, etc.
● Inspection Process for a range of fall protection equipment including:
► Full Body Harnesses
► Shock Absorbing and Positioning Lanyards
► Self-Retracting Lifelines and Winches
► Anchorage Connectors

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION:
Instruction will be based on the provided materials and inspection forms. After completion of instruction on how to inspect each type of equipment actual equipment of that type will be inspected. A Knowledge Check is taken at the end of the course.

BOTH TRAINING SESSIONS MUST BE ATTENDED TO RECEIVE CERTIFICATION.

Cost: Members $255.00 per person
Non-Members $355.00 per person

Lunch will be provided.

Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance and no-shows are responsible for the full registration fees. Substitutions may be made at anytime. Non-members must prepay to register.
