Safety leaders understand the pivotal role that frontline supervisors and site leaders play in shaping the safety mindset of the workforce. However, supervisors don’t always recognize just how much their daily decisions, actions, and attitudes influence safety performance.
This 2-day, hands-on program is designed specifically for frontline supervisors and site leaders. Participants will gain a better understanding of the bigger picture of workplace safety and, most importantly, their critical role in creating and maintaining a safer work environment.
Through practical, interactive learning, participants will develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become stronger safety leaders and help build a workplace where safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Upon completion of the Supervisor Safety Certificate Training course, a supervisor will be able to:
- Determine compliance with OSHA regulations
- Understand supervisor’s responsibilities for safety
- Perform a worksite analysis
- Recognize hazards
- Determine what potential effects an identified hazard may have
- Determine how to control identified hazards
- Communicate hazard-related information to personnel in the field and in administrative positions
- Basic Leadership Skills
- Understand some of the psychology that drives employees’ “unsafe” behaviors
Students will receive:
● A student workbook ● OSHA Standards for General Industry (CFR Part 1910) and OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry (CFR Part 1926) ● 16 hours of face-to-face learning, delivered by an Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer in Construction and General Industry ● A certificate of completion
