Managing Indoor Air Quality
Starting at: $150.00
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Instructor: Ken Smigielski
If we turned on the water at work, school or at home and it was discolored or contaminated we would not accept it. However, the air quality we are subjected to for the most part is unknown to us. The particles that are inhaled and penetrate deep into our respiratory system are invisible and therefore the demand by both regulatory agents and the public are not there. We know poor air quality can cause poor health.
Most companies have already made an investment in their ventilation system, but they are not reaching their potential efficiency because of control limitations and a lock of general knowledge in this area
Most commercial buildings, schools, hospitals and residential homes have ventilation systems. The facilities have significant investments in their ventilation systems however, many commercial filters in use are either poorly maintained or using filters inadequate to capture respirable particles, unknown to the end user.
This training will concentrate on “LOCAL EXHAUST”” ventilation, systems designed to operate on the principle of capturing a contaminate at or near its source and “GENERAL EXHAUST” used for controlling temperatures and minimize the migration of contaminants.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES:
1. Overview of Air Contaminants
2. Recognizing and Controlling Hazards
3. General and Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems
4. Ventilation Design and Selection
5. Industrial Hygiene Role
6. Monitoring and Testing Systems
7. Modeling Facility Conditions
